Here you can view some videos of my music and that of my colleagues.   I hope you will enjoy your visit.

I have spent my life in the service of music.  I wish to thank my teachers: tabla gurus Ustad Alla Rakha (twenty five years), Ustad Zakir Hussain (ten years), Sri B. S. Ramanna (1971-2) and Pt. Shankar Ghosh, who gave me my first real tabla lessons in summer of 1970.  The gift of their knowledge is beyond any other reward in my life.  I also wish to thank all my fellow students of Zakirji in California who taught me a lot of material and helped me understand and appreciate tabla, the Punjab Gharana, riaz, and the sacred nature of drumming.

In western music, my teachers are John C. Cooper, Bobby Hutcherson, and many others who helped me along the way.

I thank my parents Si and Motoko Ikeda Spiegel, who raised me, my brother, and sister in a happy home brimming with the sound of all kinds of music.
